Unsure if this has been posted already somewhere, but centrecorp has signs up on 112 street and 83/84 ave advertising leasing opportunities in 2 new apartment buildings which will take over the surface parking lot there.

With construction costs rising substantially, does anyone see how this could impact developments this year? Would developers delay projects for example, or cancel outright? Edmonton isn’t known for having high ROIs even in normal times.
The City’s tax relief for central residential developments might help offset some of the costs but it’s probably a fraction of what must be some eye watering rises in lumber and steel prices. I’m thinking a lot of the proposals for this year are in jeopardy.
