A lot of community leagues are still organizing against district planning and density. Please join your local leagues and speak at council when you can. We are definitely over the first hump, but nothing is secured.

Unlikely they'll accomplish much. The majority of this current council is very much in favour of the district plans and zoning bylaw renewal, which follow the MGA-required and -approved City Plan.

Realizing your history with the gongshow in Holyrood, discouraging activism and encouraging apathy is unhelpful, especially when there are younger citizens looking to become involved.

He's just being realistic. How many rezoning proposals actually get defeated by organized NIMBY groups? Perhaps there's a better way, but city council and city planning can't be held hostage by these groups

Sadly, we really have so few older character buildings remaining and between the neglect, actively tearing them down and fires even fewer every year.

You would think we would value and appreciate them a bit more, but it seems to currently be a thing people here don't really care about much.

Yet oddly so many people here spend thousands and thousands to travel to places with more of it. I suppose there is always Manchester Square.
