Meadowlark parking lot by Brewsters?
I think the grass? 80 flavours spot. Building on the left of the field is seniors living too. And project page says:

“A plaza on the northeast will be open to the public and act as a buffer against the future Valley Line LRT expansion”

I simply don't get why these particular amenities are put in these days given other options.

-High costs of maintenance
-limited use due to climate, noise
-huge liabilities
- unique draw
- differentiate in competitive rental marketplace
- pool looks relatively small & only open during warmer months = low running costs
- instagram friendly = huge marketing benefit for the building

I hope DynaLife will reconfigure their 2nd floor space so that pedestrians passing through no longer have to use that rat maze.

A couple of Updates. Talking with People involved and the New South West Hospital is still percolating but is not currently moving forward. They are still doing programing with AHS and AH.

Also, the new Brain surgical centre is supposed to be complete sometime in 2026. There are taking 2 floors in one pod of the Mackenzie Health Science and renovating it to the new surgical suites. This should be a lot of work because the facility does not meet current standards for such facilities. They will also be using space in the Kay Clinic on the 4th and 5th floor. (4th is mostly neurological clinics). So, no new building. Apparently, there is a fair amount of politics involved.

And Stollery is fundraising to expand their facility or build a new stand-alone facility.

I feel the NDP will make a new Stollery Children's Hospital one of their campaign promises as children and healthcare tug at the heartstrings of all sides of the political spectrum. Not surprised that there is still no movement on the SW Hospital though - more word on that may also come out once the writ is dropped.

Thanks for the information sir! Let us all pray politics don't get in the way of this New SW hospital, it's badly needed NOW, can't imagine when it inevitably finally opens in 2032...
