Misc. Parks and Greenspace Projects

The Alberta Government still cannot let go of some of Bible Bill's policies

AHS is actually not the Alberta Government. It is a corporate agency that is funded by Alberta Health and tasked with providing healthcare services in Alberta.

Alberta Health (AH) – is the ministry of the Government of Alberta that is responsible for setting healthcare policy, legislation and standards for the health system in Alberta.

What's also interesting about AHS is they publish low risk drinking guidelines. For men it's 15 drinks per week, no more than 3 per day. For women, it's 10 per week, no more than 2 per day. So they educate people on that and yet they take a hard line against adhering to those guidelines in a park setting.

However, this spring those numbers are actually being lowered, which does make good sense as there are no health benefits to alcohol. Just 3 drinks per week increase a women's chance of breast cancer by 15% and increases chances for various other cancers, too. Many in health industry believe alcohol should have warnings on it as it is classified as level one carcinogen like tobacco and asbestos. That said, so are processed deli meats.

One and same ... who is kidding who. The Board is appointed by the Minister of Health so it is "actually" under the thumb of the UCP Premier, Minister and Cabinet.

So when government MLA's are criticizing Alberta Health Services they are actually criticizing themselves and their own Health Minister and therefore the Premier?

And when Notley and the NDP defend Alberta Health Services they are actually defending Jason Kenney?

Ok.

Its incestuous and will remain that way under the current Government until every bit is privatized and taxpayers are on the hook for even more than they are now. Then the UCP will have got what they wanted and slither away to outsource or sell the any remaining public services not already privatized. USA here we come - Alberta the 51st State.

I recognize that a seniors centre is nearby, but is it necessary versus a short walk around?
