Well when looking at this project it's not just a minor change to the community but a complete overhaul of the community. I do like how it looks but I can understand as well the opinions and some of the push back. In some ways I honestly think that the area surrounding Bonnie Doon would be best to be redeveloped as was the proposal made for Bonnie Doon mall.

But the proposal for Bonnie Doon Mall is still bound to happen. The whole area between Strathearn-Holyrood-Bonnie Doon will end up being one massive TOD, which is awesome.

Even with McKernan, many of the developments are 4-6 storeys. Century Park has the benefit of LRT and two arterial roads, I think roads like 85 Street and 95 Avenue could be packed, even with LRT.

Someone I know that lives in Strathearn Heights complex just informed me that the strip mall at 95 ave and 87 st received their 6 month notice today. (SE corner of proposed project.) Any one hear anything else on this?

I've heard rumours that it is being replaced by another strip mall, but I have no idea how true that is.

the DC2 tower for the project is supposed to go where the strip mall is, right? they might be getting started on that.

I’d assume that the 6 storey building will go in place in lieu of this strip mall…..that’s fine. But when do the existing apartment buildings get noticed, vacated and bulldozed in lieu of the towers?

Honestly? Apart from Ralph's Handi Mart and the Juniper Bistro, there's really nothing much happening with this strip mall.

The 100,000 square feet of retail space and 2000+ new customers will result in a much more useful set of stores for the community. Short term pain for long term gain.
