YEG-YLW-YEG over the last 24hrs. Fares ranged from $350-1150 return. Nice to see a 738 on the route, but it was only 2/3 full. Their expansion is going well and I could see far more demand for this flight and other incoming destinations as the evolution of Kelowna continues. Here's hoping those fares drop.

I get that YYC is WestJet's main hub, and they always will get the first preference in new routes and long haul flights, but I do wish they would give more options to YEG. Like a flight to New York or bringing back the flight to London (although that is unlikely as they would need more 787's). Airlines need to stop comparing us to Winnipeg and Halifax, our population is significantly bigger than them. (sorry about this rant btw)

I feel it is more clueless media or people on social often far from Edmonton that have no idea of the size of our city or number of passengers our airport handles that constantly lump us in with airports half our size.

But I agree certain airlines in particular need to seriously improve service here, some strides have been made recently by other airlines but more needs to be done.

That's what YYC'ers pay all of the time cause their planes are so empty.....if it wasn't for us and the good pig farmers of Saskatchewan - there would be no WJ fortress......
