Also WS WestJet today announced a 1x weekly Calgary YYC - New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) for Summer 2025, operating on Saturdays from May 24-August 30 .

WS adding it, is a response to AA American Airlines also adding the YYC - LGA route 1x weekly operating on Saturdays, from June 7th to end of August✅

Usually when I click on the YEG thread it’s because I want to read about YEG. Why are your posts never about YEG. Can these posts be removed or moved to a different thread? Clearly you thrive off the negative attention your posts draw, but it’s getting tiring.

Yes, I was wondering why that was posted here, if someone is trolling or just careless or inattentive when they are posting. I assume there is a YYC site somewhere it would be more relevant.

That is very odd. There were laws about who could use La Guardia and we used to be too far away.
 
I get that YYC is WestJet's main hub, and they always will get the first preference in new routes and long haul flights, but I do wish they would give more options to YEG. Like a flight to New York or bringing back the flight to London (although that is unlikely as they would need more 787's). Airlines need to stop comparing us to Winnipeg and Halifax, our population is significantly bigger than them. (sorry about this rant btw)

I feel it is more clueless media or people on social often far from Edmonton that have no idea of the size of our city or number of passengers our airport handles that constantly lump us in with airports half our size.

But I agree certain airlines in particular need to seriously improve service here, some strides have been made recently by other airlines but more needs to be done.

The province basically paid them to not serve our city.
 
That's what YYC'ers pay all of the time cause their planes are so empty.....if it wasn't for us and the good pig farmers of Saskatchewan - there would be no WJ fortress......
