    Arc Smart Fare System

Your comment about visitors to the City sparked a thought in my head. Are there Arc machines at the airport? Because there should be. What better way to get visitors using transit when they arrive (or during their trip) than to have the opportunity to purchase the Arc card right at the...

    Metro 78 | 23m | 6s | Pinto Properties | Frank Hilbich

This was passed in the public hearing last night, thankfully.

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

The inlay of concrete and the extra drilled rebar isn't ideal but should look fine at the end of the day. The external steel belt support... My god. Trans Ed must be taking some kind of hit for that if it is to be permanent right? This is brand new infrastructure.

    The Edmonton Elks - CFL

What are the chances of Commonwealth having upgrades/being replaced now that FIFA isn't coming to town? I'd imagine Commonwealth needs rehabilitation either way at some point, no?

    Winter City

What would a huge artificial tree cost? An upfront capital investment could solve this issue for years to come, save a few real trees, and be more consistent in appearance.

    FC Edmonton - CPL

Very sad for the soccer community, I hope the CPL is able to return sooner rather than later and it's promising that there are conversations with potential world class parties. With that said, I wonder what the way forward is in terms of a stadium. Can the Clarke site be salvaged at all? What...

    Canada Soccer

Where's the best place to catch a game in the City. The Voyageurs are having a viewing party at the Pint off Whyte but is there anywhere else? I would imagine a place like Sherlock's or Duggan's Boundary would be a good place?

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

How incredibly sad it is that things like post tensioned exterior reinforcement (usually used in like older rehabilitations) are being used on brand new infrastructure. I wonder what the long term prognosis is. The design being insufficient should have been caught way before we got to this point.

I have heard this about other locations as well.

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Yeah from the looks of it they are going to take the load off the existing pier so that it can be replaced/significantly reworked. Wonder if they'll have to do that to all the damaged piers? I was driving down 98 Ave the other day and they looked to be putting some sort of angle iron on the one...

    Energy Square - Reclad/Update - 10109 – 106th Street NW / 10550 – Jasper Avenue

I believe so. The ones who had Al Centro.

Spruce Grove Metro Ballpark | ?m | ?s | Gold Sports And Entertainment

This project seemed dead in the water in the spring, work didn't start on grading activities until mid August and there were so many excuses put as to why. Its amazing that they nearly missed an entire construction season, but the long fall has been a gift and I am glad to see them move forward...

ICE District Block IJ | ?m | ?s | ICE District Prop. | Next Architecture

There was a DP created in June and issued earlier this month for an OEG fan park. Whatever that will end up looking like I don't know.

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

With all the concrete issues that this project has had, it can't all be design issues can it? The sidewalk stuff that has to be ripped up also speaks to quality issues I think. I have no idea why this would not have been caught sooner. What a debacle.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Agree that it would have been a great fit for Villeneuve. I'm surprised this is a Greenfield development and not out at Springbank honestly. If I remember correctly the CEO has ties to Calgary so I think it was always going to be in the Calgary area.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Will there be rail access to the development or will it be mainly truck access? Also, I know it's just a rendering but I wonder what that raised bit is at the bottom of the rendering. HSR? Raised road network as part of the various interchanges?

    Edmonton - Red Deer - Calgary Hyperloop | ?m | ?s | Transpod

If it is 5-10 km like the article states then it will probably link up with the Capital Line extension at Heritage Valley (13km) or farther down the line (10km puts you at 41 Avenue) rather than downtown. Downtown as the crow flies from YEG to Government Centre Station is 25km.

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

If thermal expansion is really the issue at hand here (apparently from the steel) then are all of the piers not at risk here? All concrete with that steel inside of it? Does this compromise the Tawatina Bridge too? I'm not an engineer but that doesn't seem like a fix is possible without...

Which tower do you hope moves forward next???

Would love to see a taller version of #2 built at #1.

    William Hawrelak Park Rehabilitation

Will the City still be able to host triathlons if this work goes ahead? The plantings are probably a good idea for increased water filtration but will there still be access to the lake somehow? The triathlons are one of Edmonton's premier summer athletic events. I assume we won't be hosting...
