This building and apartments are going to have to be seriously nice and also cheap. The surrounding area is an absolute midden.

Not much for south views/sunlight either. But it looks like a pretty nice project when built out. Even though it won't have anything like the views of The Hat on 95 Street, which has had more trouble than other buildings leasing out, this is close to Ice District which may help it.

This also has a $31 million pedway going for it.

Well, there we have it.
"In the next six months, Station Lands will rise into Edmonton’s skyline. Qualico Properties says the first mixed-use residential midrise building is expected to top out at 17 stories by August 2023, with the parkade structure being completed by then as well.

The mid-rise building targets completion in 2024, while the groundwork for the pedestrian plaza is expected to come together by 2025."

Beginning construction next year or early 2025, the second mixed-use residential high-rise development is aiming for completion in either 2026 or 2027.

NDP: Moving people around doesn’t solve the problem maybe the provincial government should get involved.

This is a very poor understanding of what happened.
1. OEG is contributing only $10M of the $27M price tag.
2. It was an independent appeals board made up of citizens that blocked the development permit because it didn't fit under the current zoning. It wasn't council or administration that made the decision.
3. Boyle Street just has to rezone the plot. I'm pretty sure council would approve it in a heart beat.

Its not just moving people around, I believe the new building would be larger and better suited for helping the people who need help.

As for the current provincial government, they are hopeless and that is its own issue, but the new building is something that can be done in the meantime.

False. You haven't a clue about how that all went down. Annnnyways....glad to see their revised DP approved and they can now move on with their new facility.
