Who's Laughing

2 - Why does the US do most of the heavy lifting for NATO, etc..? Well, maybe, just maybe, because they are the ones who always go out and create trouble all across the globe, bringing tons of "democracy" in the form of Humvees, F-22s and Aircraft Carriers, in the first place? (And only when and where it's convenient for them... No issues with bloody dictatorships as long as their pretty little oil and dollars flow into the US... Then they become a valued ally).
I knew there was some anti-American sentiment brewing inside there -- it has shown itself several times now.

Oh, it's no secret. I've never been the biggest fan of the US. All you needed to do was ask

Also, nothing I said was a lie. The US has a long standing tradition of war mongering and few countries (probably only Russia and North Korea, these days) are so influenced by a military mindset than they are.

How convenient for you to ignore Russia and its fascist leader Putin invading Ukraine or Xi another fascist leader wreck havoc in the South Asian Seas and around the world ... but maybe your are sympathetic to fascism (masquerading as socialism and communism in Russia and China).

Did you actually read what I said?
China does have a terrible dictatorship, but it's inclination to violence is mostly directed inwards, not outwards (it has been changing in recent years, but China does not have a long history of invading foreign territories). Same goes for Turkey (albeit not exactly a dictator yet, Erdogan would love to become so), the Philippines, etc...
Russia and North Korea are likely the only countries with the same warmongering-expansionist mentality the US has, with the difference that while North Korea brainwashes and controls it's population to think like this, and Russia is not far behind, the US are a democracy and, still, this is the prevailing mindset, and has been for most of the country's history.

Also, @EdmTrekker the kind of accusation you made is serious and I won't hesitate to sue, if I'm ever called a fascist, is sympathetic to fascism again.
Where did I write you are a fascist? I wrote: "How convenient for you to ignore Russia and its fascist leader Putin invading Ukraine or Xi another fascist leader wreck havoc in the South Asian Seas and around the world ... but maybe your are sympathetic to fascism (masquerading as socialism and communism in Russia and China)." The words "but maybe" serves to ask the question if you are sympathetic given your post #29 where you went on a an anti-American rant. Why you felt compelled to make a political statement at all is puzzling.

China would not hesitate to attack Taiwan if they had the opportunity. They had a mini-war with India last year. Their outward intimidation toward neighbours have been increasing every year.

They've been getting worse, and their history with Taiwan is complicated, but China hasn't been raging war on foreign nations halfway across the globe like Russia and the US have.
And to my point regarding the initial comment, China, Russia, etc... Are not a part of NATO, so...

There were 3 Chinese men...

Han, Chan and Fan were planning on migrating to the USA.

They all wanted to assimilate as quickly as possible, so they decided to adopt more traditional American sounding names.

Han decided that he would be Huck.

Chan decided that he would be Chuck.

And Fan...well Fan decided that he`d stay in China.

You ain't kidding! Even at my mom's place out in Drayton Valley it's $1.90/L. Needless to say I put $10 worth today just to see how fast it took? Less than 10 seconds... Talk about "quick charge and go" but for fossil fuels and at a price that while inflated is still cheaper than bottled water... And yet another confirmation as to why I'm ditching fossil fuels entirely this year if I can wrangle up a used EV from that dealership in Calgary.... Or even look into BEVVING up my Smartie since there are plenty of those being converted these days too!
