More policing always seems to bring more criminals. No thanks.
As far as I know, there is absolutely no truth to the statement that more policing brings more criminals.More policing always seems to bring more criminals. No thanks.
In Lethbridge, there was a specific part of Downtown that had a disproportionately large amount of arrests/police interventions. The data supported the notion that that area needed increased policing, based on where intervention was happening. As far as I know, there is absolutely no truth to the statement that more policing brings more criminals.
More police would - and should - result in more crimes being solved and more people being convicted but more convictions doesn't mean more criminals in the way the statement suggests.
Now that more women are likely to report a rape and testify in court because they are afforded more and more sensitive policing certainly doesn't mean that more policing has resulted in more rapes simply because there are more arrests and convictions. That would would be a perverse conclusion/use of statistics. The same is true for pretty much everything police are expected to solve or resolve.
I’d argue that with all the catch-and-release, it sure feels like it. We need a Dent ActMore cops don't beget more criminals. Life isn't a Batman movie.
I'm still upset about the fact that his brunch restaurant on Whyte, Rooster Kitchen, refers to eggs as "cackleberries."A rumor that former four-term Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer will be declaring his intention to run for Mayor.
His wikipedia article is definitely encouraging.......A rumor that former four-term Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer will be declaring his intention to run for Mayor.
Public opinion would be hard to sway after a DUI and drug charge. His wikipedia article is definitely encouraging.......
Likely doesn't have a shot but would be happy to see some split of the conservative vote.
You'd think, but being a repeated drunk driver and killing a 39 year old mother hasn't stopped Moe from winning again and again. I don't take anything for granted anymore.Public opinion would be hard to sway after a DUI and drug charge.

It sure didn't help Mayor Ted Clugston in Medicine Hat get re-elected.You'd think, but being a repeated drunk driver and killing a 39 year old mother hasn't stopped Moe from winning again and again. I don't take anything for granted anymore.
Ya, that's exactly my point. Jaffer likely has no chance, but a DUI is no longer as automatically disqualifying as it should be. Saying anything can happen, doesn't mean I think it will happen. It sure didn't help Mayor Ted Clugston in Medicine Hat get re-elected.

Yes, for various reasons voters have become a lot more forgiving of past shortcomings known about, over the last decade or so.You'd think, but being a repeated drunk driver and killing a 39 year old mother hasn't stopped Moe from winning again and again. I don't take anything for granted anymore.
Can confirmI heard a rumour Rajah Maggay is planning to replace Knack. Can anyone confirm or deny?
