Miscellaneous

Aren't these buildings directly in the path of the Valley Line West LRT? I remember there were a set of businesses somewhere along here bought out because the line veers to the north of Stony Plain Road at this intersection.
You're bang on. These are being removed to make way for the west LRT.

I wonder what this project is? I'm not aware of any current DIALOG projects in Inglewood.

This extension and facade improvement project on the Hong Kong Bank building looks like its pretty close to completion. IMO it looks like a Circle K is going in here. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Btw the facade improvements wrap around the corner and extend along the length of the west side of the building

^Yep, the Stovel was designated a Municipal Historic Resource back in late-October. It's great to see this block getting some much needed love, especially with the market now in the old G.W.G. Factory. According to its bylaw, some $6,700,000 will be spent restoring the building. The three most notable things are the storefront and cornice/parapet rehabilitation, along with window replacement, which'll hopefully bring it back to looking like this:

Speaking of the Downtown Farmer’s Market, I went there a few weeks ago and I was absolutely blown away by the atmosphere and character of the entire building! The way they reused and renovated the old building is absolutely marvelous.

But here’s the most important thing about this: I believe that this first market could be a stepping stone to further renovation other old buildings in the area and bringing in new development in order to create a “Market District” Similar to Granville Island but on a smaller scale of course. This would not only encourage new development in downtown and increase the local economy, but would also greatly help in the revitalization of the Quarters and Boyle Street! Just imagine how cool this would be, guys!! 😃

Anyway, not sure if there’s a specific thread for the downtown farmers market (if there is could you please move these two posts to that thread @Daveography ?), but here’s some pics I
took when I was there:

Tenant Improvements before they move or is this for a sublease to another organization? Regardless this is some refreshing news.

@Yunus Emre This thread follows the progress of that property:

It will probably be a long time before we see it developed.
