General Food & Dining Thread

Its my opinion: frozen beef does not enjoy the same texture or taste as fresh AAA beef.
In all fairness, between a slightly less appealing beef and no beef altogether (or substantially less beef), I'll choose the former.
If prices are going to rise as much as he says, I'll be stocking up my freezer this week.

I think Spencer is/was with firefly. The Yarrow chef is Taylor I believe.

I hope somebody follows the concept but makes it more approachable to consumers

For starters, how about a more appealing location than this?

Downtown is well served, maybe overserved now.
Don't push it. Well served, maybe, but far from overserved. Especially south of Jasper. A small grocery store around 98 ave and 104 st wouldn't hurt anyone (I'd kill for a Nester's there).

Microgroceries sure, but from anything of size it has:

Save-On
City Market
United (Chinese)
*Shoppers
*Rexall

Would love to see a building like the Oliver one with the Safeway get built south of Jasper on some of those huge lots. (N/S not E/W though for sun). Likely need a few more projects 103-108st south of jasper to really justify though. But I’d imagine it would appeal to rossdale/riverdale even alongside DT proper.

On the flip side, maybe having such an amenity could help attract residents to the area.
