I suppose you never know, but in some situations, even a new face, an outsider, or a "maverick", is simply not enough to cut through the headwinds of the incumbency fatigue that comes with a ~10 year-old government.
I agree that it is a major uphill battle regardless of who the leader is. There is justifiably a lot of disappointment with the Liberals in how they governed even though they have some notable accomplishments, too (which I would hope any government would after 10 years).
Carney certainly isn't a seasoned politician and it will be interesting to see if he can manage that if elected leader. I do find him likeable and well accomplished in his career and I like the sustainable, economic background.
I would be considering the Conservatives this time but I just have an extremely difficult time with PP. I find him so annoying and untrustworthy as well - I was very disatiafied with Trudeau as well. If it was Trudeau vs. PP, I likely wouldnt be voting for either party. I also don't see PP as an experienced, capable leader either given that he's really only been a politician all his life. Maybe the conservatives will come forward with some winning policies, though. I just don't know if I can overcome my distaste for PP.
