Clearshades: I am quite certain that you have not seen "the blueprinting" -- you have no idea what you are talking about!
The second last picture should conclude any arguments that this project will exceed beyond the current plateau. That picture clearly illustrate a safe-out zone. From experience of the apprenticeship days, that is not preparations for columns or slabs.
I could be mistaken but I seem to remember the tunnel just under Epcor tower. For those that remembered/KCanter, does this tower portion lay above the the LRT curve?
Was the idea to ever have a stop somewhere under the epcor tower?^. ^^
the alignment of the lrt tunnel is just north of epcor tower and just south of the long term planning for development above the north half of the parkade. i don’t have a current site plan but this was one of the earlier iterations that shows where it enters the site between the cn tower and the ram and where it exits the site under 105 avenue.

it was discussed at a high level but only really, really briefly. the alignment from churchill was fixed as was the alignment under 105 avenue and that pretty much set the geometry through/under station lands. that geometry as well as the previously fixed station lands and epcor tower components precluded the ability to widen the tunnel enough for a station. the track at that point is at least 65 feet below the main floor elevation for station lands so vertical circulation and exiting and firefighting and hvac etc. would all have been equally problematic physically, legally and financially…Was the idea to ever have a stop somewhere under the epcor tower?
