Edmonton music concerts

CISN has a "Massive. Concert. Announcement. 🚨🚨🚨" tomorrow at 7AM so might be a country act.

Garth? Kenny Chesney? Or maybe... Brooks and Dunn?

Is Commonwealth hosting them? Never heard of the first guy but I would imagine Brooks & Dunn are at the “Midway” type of venue this late in their careers?

Yeah those two shows will sell out in an instant. It's kind of hard to explain how big he is. I think he's supposed to drop an album this spring too which will only make demand for these shows even crazier.

@MacLac B&D are definitely in the playing at River Cree level at this point, which I think is a hair above Midway lol

It is really hard to explain how big he is! One must have to listen to CISN Country to know him or watch a Country music video channel. I swear I have never heard of him. I'm ecstatic that's he gonna sell out Commonwealth though! There was another country guy a year or two ago that also sold out Commonwealth that I never heard of.

No, still big in country. Not Morgan Wallen big but they'd do well if they came on their own tour.

He's all over pop radio too.

From Billboard's top 10 artists of 2024 list:

2. Morgan Wallen

Morgan Wallen finishes 2024 as Billboard’s No. 2 year-end artist, for a second straight year. During the 2024 eligibility period (Oct. 28, 2023, through Oct. 19, 2024-dated charts), Wallen continued to find steady chart success on the weekly Billboard 200 – he had the only album that spent the entire 52 weeks of the year in the top 10: One Thing at a Time. That set launched at No. 1 on the March 18, 2023-dated list and spent 19 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 (16 in the 2023 chart year and three in the 2024 chart year). Meanwhile, his previous album, Dangerous: The Double Album, held in the weekly top 40 during the entire 2024 chart year (after having spent 10 weeks at No. 1 in 2021).
On the year-end Billboard 200 Albums recap, One Thing at a Time ranks at No. 3 (it was No. 1 in 2023) while Dangerous is No. 8. The latter was No. 5 in 2023, No. 3 in 2022 and No. 1 in 2021. Dangerous is the first title to spend four years, consecutively or otherwise, in the year-end Billboard 200 Albums top 10 since the original Broadway cast recording to My Fair Lady (1956-59).
On the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart during the 2024 chart year, Wallen had 10 titles that spent time on the list – six of them debuts. Of those 10 tracks, four visited the top 10: “Last Night” (2023’s year-end No. 1 song) and “Thinkin’ Bout Me” both debuted on the chart during the 2023 chart year but carried over their top 10 runs into the 2024 period. Then he had two new top 10s: his featured turn on Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” which spent six weeks at No. 1 (in May through July 2024), and “Lies Lies Lies,” which peaked at No. 7 (in July). “I Had Some Help” wraps at No. 4 on the year-end Hot 100 Songs recap.
