Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I never knew how frustrating flying from Edmonton is untill this year as i have started to travel more for work. this year alone had to go through YYC 6 times. im not hating on YYC, its just frustrating when you have have a layover for 3 hours and then have hop on a shitty plane for like 20 mins
Whereabouts are you mainly flying to?

Edmonton Airports CEO Myron Keehn: "Airlines respond to full seats."
BY STEVEN SANDOR APRIL 21, 2023

Great article, but I have to disagree with Keehn when he claims EIA has great coverage of the central U.S. Not without Chicago O'Hare. That was probably the biggest blow in terms of lost transborder service.

The other issue is that aside from Denver, we don't really have non-stop service by a U.S. airline to a really important hub. AC serves United's hub at SFO and WS will be serving Delta's secondary hub at Minneapolis. But we don't have American service to AA's most important hubs at DFW or JFK, or Delta service to DL's global hub at Atlanta. The connectivity that Delta offers, for example, from ATL is second to none.

Few notes from yesterday: both the "Sunglass Hut and adjacent "phone trinket store" have CLOSED permanently as per my kid who works PT next door to them. Gretzky's restaurant still sitting empty......both Chili's and Brewhouse are packed every time I walk by. Heineken bar still boarded up....it always seemed strange that we had both a "Belgian" and a 'Dutch" bar beside each other for those years. Weird casino/restaurant empty AGAIN, haven't seen more than 1 person in it yet. Domestic security - as much as we all hate it - I'll take ours all day every day over any of YVR's checkpoints....hot, dark, poorly staffed, inconsistent with "nail clippers," am I the only one who gets them taken from me most times at YVR?

I'd love to see a pharmacy at YEG. Vancouver Airport has a Pharmasave along with a medical clinic.

Thinking even bigger, I envy European airports. Amsterdam, Munich, Frankfurt/Main and Wien all have very good supermarkets with fresh food right in their terminals. Even Heathrow has M&S Simply Food. We've often picked up some good snacks for our flights at Albert Heijn in Schiphol.

Waiting for my flight. Airport is busy at 3pm.

747 bus was jam packed. And big line up waiting to take it back into city as well.
Runs just once per hour mid day.

Tell me about it. About half the passengers disembark at the the mall but still it gets pretty crowded.
