I'm surprised that's not the norm, although it doesn't conform to the city's vision of Jasper Ave and will have to be redone.

Most BC municipalities force developers to redo or, in some cases, build new sidewalks. I think it was only in the past 5-10 years that they were forced to build it a certain way to fit neighbourhood plans ie with bike/shared use paths.

Hey, just a thought, but if what they do is decent, maybe it would be an idea for the City to leave it and save the money or use it elsewhere?
