I think something like a condo tower and retail in the NW corner would provide a better interface with the Ice District. Alternatively, have a grand entrance at 102 Street (South Entrance) with a big window over the entrance.

@Kaizen Good plan, but doesn't really change anything here as HBC hasn't owned property in Edmonton in a long time AFAIK, and are still planning to close the CC store altogether.

No mega-project is going to 'fix' downtown. It'll be numerous small projects like this that add up to make the whole area more pleasant and inviting. Light'er up!

FYI - there is/was to be a lighting of all of the large top of bank trees along Macdonald Drive...including a feature tree and destination photo-op sign/art piece.

Whether it's Whyte, Jasper or 102A, the south side of an Avenue is a tougher sell.
