maybe they would like to be able to offer underground parking to their staff and customers that isn’t possible where they are?

maybe they would like a pedway link that they can’t get where they are?

maybe they would like a direct connection to the lrt that they can’t get where they are?

maybe they want floor plates that are larger and more efficient than 13,500 sf?
All fair comments/potential requirements, but they currently have:

-enclosed, pedway attached secured covered parking
-multiple surface and metered spots for convenient parking options
-They are 40' from the Bay LRT entrance that then provides them access to the system and could be directly connected to the building
-13.5 is still a reasonable plate and while not the 20ish that many look for these days, still provides one of the most efficient layouts, corner office opportunities out there from the floors that I have been on.

But choice and options are good and why you RFP it.

It sharpens the entire market's pencils.
 
I could see them taking on the former Scotiabank space in the old Scotia towers. It's kitty corner but if they redeveloped the space it truly wouldn't be a bad space. With the reclad that was done there I could see the owners being desperate for a new anchor tenant and as we'd say dropping the pants for a long term lease.

I guess that means that the Sutton Place Hotel has been sold to Sandman?
 
I could be wrong but believe this property is owned and operated by Northland Properties/Gaglardi Family? Who also own the Sandman/Sutton Place brands.
That seems right. Thanks for the info. I thought that Sandman and Sutton place were always owner and operators. But did not know that they both are owned by the same group. Just checked the website and they are.
