Downtown Real Estate

I wonder if the buyer (who would buy this?) will want to keep the existing businesses and exterior. It does look super out-of-place downtown, but that's also part of the charm.
Out of place? It’s a historic church…every downtown has a handful of these buildings, whether still churches or converted to music venues, clubs, lofts, etc.

I have to think that someone will pick this up and retain its use, maybe even acquire the spot next door and make something of it.

Curious why Oliver is selling. Chris - let's ask Wayno.

What did I miss?

Orange - U/C
Pink - Proposed
Blue - Quality development site
Green - Central Warehouse Park
Yellow - Provincial redevelopment site (any update on who got this?)

You missed Katz's property on 104th Street, for one, and some of his ICE District Phase II land. And you can square off the MacU land for the MBA addition. A quick glance...

Tyson (one of the owners) clarified on Facebook that although the listing says business is for sale they're really looking to only sell the building right now and continue business as usual. If they got a good offer they'd sell the business as well. COVID debts and such they need the cash from the building sale.

The yellow is the Eric Cormack site? I have to admit to a fondness for the southern building there—I hope it can be repurposed—although it doesn't seem to be particularly beloved by anybody else.

They just removed all of the bushes and brush on the north areas... anyone know who picked this up?

All the shrubbery around the perimeter of this site was trimmed down two years ago as well - right down to the ground (but it's not dug up). I don't think it is related to any new property owner or impending activity. I'm not saying there's not a new owner, but I think what you're seeing is just another major trimming.

Last I heard it was owned by Alberta Social Housing Corporation and was being held for future considerations.

This shubbery?
