Oh yeah, because of all the restrictions and other stuff happening in the states this could actually cause real problems that FIFA never expected to happen.
Heck, if they just give Mr. T a few more nice participation trophies, they will probably be fine. For some reason I feel FIFA understands well how to deal with corrupt authoritarians.

Fresh off Jelly Roll's Grammy win last night. Another story of prison life to newfound meaning, God, and personal success.

"Yes, Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) has a significant criminal history, having been in and out of jail and prison for drug and robbery charges from his teens into his twenties, but he received a pardon for these felonies from the Tennessee Governor in December 2025, marking a major step in his redemption story. He was repeatedly incarcerated for offenses like aggravated robbery and drug possession and distribution, but his time in prison also led to earning his GED and a turning point after the birth of his daughter, inspiring his successful career change and advocacy."

This place could really use some investment to allow that dominance for large stadium concerts and events between Vancouver and Toronto to continue into the future. I just can't get the image of the concourse madness when the stadium is full out of my head.

Please please Pearl Jam announce another leg of your “Dark Matter” tour and come to YEG for only the 3rd time in their 35+ years…..Commonwealth is open for business

That is a good thought, but I think you need to look at the routes traveling shows take.

Edmontons issue isnt mainly the stadium, its our isolated geography that limits potential -imo

Yes, geography is a part of it, but it goes both ways. We have the only venue of this size in an area that includes parts of three provinces with around 7 million people (about as many people as Toronto).

Also, if an act is coming from outside of Canada, they already need to go through hoops to do that, so performing in three cities rather than two may be better. Driving sets and equipment from BC takes a while, but in summer the weather is usually good and for the performers it could be a fairly short flight.

ok that all makes sense, but Vancouver isnt the starting point, nor end point, for most tours that I have noted.

Metalica’s schedule from 2023.

We can assume this is a single rig show in north america, as we have 5 days between shows an 2 shows in each city with a rest day between shows. Now with tear down and set up that leaves a drive time of 2-3 days.

What major markets apart from Van/Sea is there in that 2-3 day timeframe w/ a drive time max of 12-14 hours drive time? Maybe Salt Lake City, although its smaller than the Ab/Cal/Edm market.

I just mentioned Vancouver if they had to cross the US border to do a show there it could make sense to then continue on to Edmonton, if they were doing only large stadiums here, to save another border crossing.

If they are not doing a Vancouver show then it doesn't matter and it doesn't have to be where they start or end.
