Capital Line LRT

This was the accident at Clareview just over a month ago. There were screams for help from the victim so it wasn't likely he was trying to take his own life. So I'm not sure if _urbanite meant it wasn't accidental due to other means.

From what I gathered from eyewitness accounts on Twitter, the person walked too close to the train with his bicycle as it was departing and ended up falling somehow between trains. He screamed for help and passengers tried to alert the operator to stop but the train kept going. Finally just past the LRT yard, one of the passengers managed to open a door using the emergency exit mechanism, forcing the train to come to a stop about 1.2km from Clareview Station. The person was found still pinned underneath the train and declared deceased on scene.

"As the new plaza opens at the Stadium LRT Station, commuters and community members will be able to take a seat and enjoy one of Edmonton’s newest public art installations. Back in 2020, the public art selection committee recommended artists Michelle Campos Castillo, Becca Taylor, Christina Battle, Tiffany Shaw, and Shawn Tse for the Stadium LRT Station public art project. For this project, the team identified an interest in uncovering, listening to and exploring well established narratives of the area and its shifting values of public space with regards to transit and the experience of moving from one place to another.

Their artwork, "Dream", is comprised of 14 individual structures varying in colour and size, that come together to create a playful gathering space. Read on to learn more about "Dream" from artist Michelle Campos Castillo as she expands on the work and the experience of collaborating with the other collective members.

South Gate Station needs a pedway connecting the station to South Gate Centre. There is an escalator right where the entrance could be. It would make it much less tedious.
The pedway isn't there because Ivanhoe Cambridge said no when the option was presented prior to Capital Line South LRT design and construction.

That is the UofA's station and not particularly representative of 'the system'.
