Hi friends,
First time poster on the Edmonton Skyrise Forum.
I came across some interesting articles & photos related to your fine city while researching some Calgary archives.
A lot of this is not "Unbuilt" but some of it is so I decided to post it here.
This first set is from the "Alberta Business Journal" from 1967.

What they thought Edmonton in 1980 would be like - they predicted a number of things accurately - others, not so much:

Interesting, we were smaller than Winnipeg then but growing quite fast and full of optimism. Now we are twice the size of it, but feel more like an outpost than a major business center.

Oh man. Back when Edmonton could be optimistic and look to the future with hope. FCC1982, you've got my respect.

We had cheapskate developers back then too... they just weren't as prevalent as the current crop.

Also, some projects look better in the design phase. If they had went ahead, they may not all have turned out as good as pictures, but the articles and pictures does capture a time of heady optimism that is not around right now
