Parking has always been weirdly primitive and terrible there going back to the old park,. My Dad and I always ended up walking to the games from as far away as the Legislature because they just had a crappy oft-muddy field to park in that was quite slow to get in and out of and it really hasn't improved much. What they even have there can only cover a very scant portion of the park's capacity. So someone has to be figuring out something else if they're drawing these kinds of crowds.I'm not sure they were recommending it be demolished, but there was interest in moving the Rossdale development plan forward with lots of new housing and that included taking the parking space for the facility. So there were questions about how viable the stadium might be without parking - this is Edmonton after all.

Just like the gondola. There was a significant push about 5 years ago to demo the ballpark in favour of some (stupid) canals that were going to save the day and put Edmonton on the international tourist map akin to San Antonio, Fort Lauderdale or even Oklahoma.
