Boyle Renaissance is a unique, multi-phase neighbourhood revitalization project located between 95-96 Street and 103a Avenue north to the LRT tracks within The Quarters Downtown Community Revitalization Levy Plan area. The Boyle Renaissance Master Plan was created by the City in partnership with the Boyle Renaissance Advisory Committee in 2010. The Boyle Renaissance Advisory Committee Report outlines steps required to finalize Phase III, including consulting with the community again on the update to the Master Plan.
@bodsbods9090 This area is prime for the making, and its happening. Still holding my breath on a potential big project, or two. Though every development from; the Ociciwan and Quarters Arts, Farmers Market, Brighton Block , new management for the hotel formally known as the Hyatt Place, the park going in along the Armature, Crashed Ice occasionally, the Hat, the Hat 2, 3, 4, the LRT, etc, are going to be making a palpable impact. A few blocks developed with low to mid rise with retail and grocery offerings are really needed to make the Quarters a neighborhood again. What am I missing here anyone. Is the Quarters a thing yet ?
Edmonton city planners want to create a $600,000 incentive fund to attract investment in the Quarters. The city councillor for downtown doesn't think it's a good idea.
I look forward to seeing some exciting highrise mixed-use redevelopments on this block by a competent developer (i.e. anyone not named "Regency", "Alldritt" or "Niche")
I had a buddy's group take a run at it about 5yrs ago, but they could not make the numbers work, were perturbed by the lack of other investment in the area and walkabouts with investors were not particularly well received sadly.
