Its a noticeable feature or quirk of the building and I understand that was the reason. I suspect if you go elsewhere and also see something odd, sometimes a zoning or other restriction is responsible for that too.
 
When I drove by I saw it looked like there was cladding installed on parts of the tower, does anyone have a picture of it? Or was I imagining things?

That aluminum stuff is up almost a dozen stories. But seems to have a protective layer on it that needs to be pulled off at the end. Is that what you’re referencing?

North side of the tower, It looked like grey finished panels similar to the station lands building. I was going by in a car a block away so I didn't get the best view, but i'm guessing that the lack of pictures means I was just seeing things haha.
