New to the forum so I'm not sure how to create a new post so I'll put this here.
There are "early plans" for a Richford Urban Village on Ellerslie and 111st.
They already bought the rugby club underneath it, apparently it was never profitable.
A rezoning application is currently pending and nearby projects suggest to me it'll go through. Here's the public consultation they did in January with concepts.


btw What are the qualifications to end up on the map? because there are more things southside I'd like to show up on it.

Interesting. Almost TOD? 9min walk to new LRT and Transit Centre. Would love to see these directly on SPR though.

Unfortunate to see that sea of at-grade parking in this proposal.
 
The Bear Hills Casino on the QE2 near the Wetaskiwin interchange opened about 2 months ago. There is some more work to complete such as a new Petro-Canada gas station and an entrance/exit for QE2 SB drivers.

Looks nice. They do however need signage coming north south of the entrance. Give potential customers a chance to turn in versus going to around interchange to the north and then back agin from the south.
 
How are they building the entrance for SB drivers? Will it be an over/underpass?

I should clarify that SB drivers won't have access to the casino or the rest area until the Maskwacis interchange just a couple of minutes south.
There is a small turnoff to NB traffic just south of the rest area, but if you fart you miss it.

I have no idea what plans are in place for SB traffic.
