Agreed. Great addition to the area. Certainly much better than the long abandoned sewage treatment plant that was there prior.

For some reason it reminds me of this old joke: Kid's first bicycle -- get's on and after a few balance "episodes" finally gets it going and takes a ride around the block and on the first pass by home residence states "look ma I'm riding the bike". Getting a little self-assured and braver with each peddle stroke; the kid comes by the second time around not using hands to steer or hold onto the bike... "look ma no hands"; the third time around the kid is walking beside the bike, both he and the vehicle battered and bruised... "look ma no teeth!"

They are going to have to park an ambulance or first aider there for the first few months. There will be people that do not have the refined skills to attempt some of that apparatus without some help.

Not my thing, wont be using it myself but what a fantastic addition to the river valley. Love to see stuff like this.

My husband's coworker has been very involved in this park. A lot of love, along with blood, sweat, and tears went into it. Let's hope it doesn't get destroyed by ijits.

Doubt it, had a couple of sickly, old elms taken down on my street today and I talked to the arborists and asked about DED. They said that there haven't been any positive results since the initial couple of trees last fall near the CN tracks.

I'll defer to the knowledge of @Glenco once again but I was under the impression that Dutch Elm Disease was (if not facing a sustainable cure) contained.

It’s my greatest fear living on a boulevard street. Will be dead before anything planted to replace them become somewhat close to what they are today.
