Sounds like the roof has hit end of life and isn't worth repairing. I doubt the "redevelopment" has any real plans or money behind it, but I hope I am wrong. With e4c planning to vacate Alex Taylor soon this corner could get very quiet.
The Moth Cafe announced it would be closing its doors in 2026 after economic uncertainty these past years, with no plans to reopen.

Loma House Vegetarian Express (23rd ave) and Langano Skies (inside Barb & Ernies Old Country Inn) are both also closing. Luckily it's because of the owners retiring, not financial problems.
