Edmonton summer festivals

Not sure about anyone else here but I have never listened to blues and have no friends that do. Perhaps it is struggling due to a lack of interest as its usual fan base shrinks? I’d say genres like jazz are more widely popular than blues, as an example, but maybe I’m wrong on that too.
Or just don't stick hard and true to the genre. Ottawa's Bluesfest is probably the biggest music festival in the country and it is ten days of the most popular artists in nearly every genre.

Most successful large music festivals in Canada like Ottawa's Blues Fest or Montreal Jazz Festival have reached out beyond those genres to appeal to larger audience.

I have a real ongoing beef with the accuracy of newspaper headline writers these days. The story is about one Festival, with only vague comments about others, so this headline should not say Festivals.

Yes, a lot of things are struggling post COVID, but most of the others are continuing.

We are pleased to announce that Mt. Joy will headline the Festival on Sunday, August 10.
Mt. Joy last performed at the Festival in 2018. Since then, their undeniable musical prowess and live musicianship are steadily catapulting them to become household names as they fast become one of North America’s most beloved live bands.
