You can see the exposed parkade of CN Tower I believe...trying to imagine where the train station/tracks were.
the original train station was where the cn tower now sits, there was a baggage handling “shed” that was added subsequently that ran east/west south of where epcor tower now sits and there was a two story annex that ran east/west between the station and the old post office.

as noted, cn tower was built where the station originally sat and its parkade actually sat over/around the ends of the shed and the annex. a new station was incorporated in the basement and there was a tunnel under the tracks that provided access to the boarding platform.

the tunnel and the east annex were demolished for the first phase of station lands along with a small building on 101 street that was once home to the cn police and was the first permanent home for ihuman. the shed was demolished to make way for the galleria.

A natural complement here would entail convincing the Edmonton Public School Board to move its maintenance yard elsewhere (the half-block that faces 100th Street North of 105th Avenue) allowing the site to be developed as a traditional Chinese Garden, with elements such as:

What Toronto needs is a Chinese garden – Toronto Gardens

What Toronto needs is a Chinese garden – Toronto Gardens
What Toronto needs is a Chinese garden – Toronto Gardens
Dr Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden - Vancouver Planner

This would not only reinforce the Asian-Canadian sensibility of the area but it would also underscore continued development to the north of the City core.

Criteria for a Classical Chinese Garden:

Conventional Edmonton thinking would put a Classical Chinese Garden in a park space like Louise McKinney Park when in fact the Gardens were typically set in somewhat blighted areas as a chance to escape the underserved built-world as a way to uplift spirits from their dismal surroundings. The Public School Maintenance yards would be an ideal location for reasons that number more than a dozen.

Well in fairness, Louise McKinney Park has seemed somewhat blighted at times.
