I was thinking the same thing. Are they backfilling in that meteorite crater now to coincide? The current parkade does not look big enough to support both of those buildings

.. and the McD's in Commerce Place stills seems closed too. I think they've lost the plot. On a brighter note Sunterra's open again and seems fairly busy.

I figured they had a strong foundation since there was a taller structure planned for that spot.

Drove by the site yesterday and there seemed to be some work going on. Looked like an excavator was on site. A couple other construction vehicles as well.

Didn't get a close look but from what I could tell it looked they were doing work in a few areas.

I also drove by yesterday and it seemed things were starting to mobilize to site. Couldn't get a good look though, lots was behind Ledcor's construction fencing north of the parkade.

Demolition of the existing ceiling over P1 started yesterday. They will recover it with a temporary roof when it is done. They probably need a couple of weeks to get it done as the concrete seems to be thick and full of rebars.
