3d •EDMONTON INDUSTRIAL VACANCY UNDER 4% - SEPT 2022:
Vacancy has dropped from almost 7% to now in the high 3% range (over the past 2 years). Expect lease rates to increase into 2023 as availability of space reduces (mid to low 3% range by mid 2023).

It's not a trend, it's a movement.

Did you know one of The City Plan’s long-term targets is to add 50 per cent of new units through infill citywide? Check out this new interactive map that helps visualize and track residential infill patterns in the city’s redeveloping area.

So how is "downtown" determined by StatsCan and/or how have the Wiki editors used the available information? Here are the facts: https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/...021001-eng.htm

I question the Montreal numbers given the recent additions/growth, but perhaps given the large swaths of uses it skews it?

More on MTL

Well - here is the map for Montreal. Area pretty large and larger than Edmonton. And the StatsCan numbers are what they are.

I haven’t looked at the other citie, but the stats can numbers don’t jive with Edmontons municipal census numbers. If I recall, our downtown population is around 14-15000. Which makes me suspect that stats can is arbitrarily identifying populations by a different measure rather than the more correct usage of municipal wards.

If our downtown had 50,000 localized residents the businesses in our immediate vicinity would be rocking and rolling.
