Edmonton Oilers

Oilers reportedly sign Corey Perry. Sealing the deal for an Oilers loss in the Stanley Cup Final.

Can we take that bad scenario prediction to the bank like your previous one?

"I also think the refs will do everything they can to prevent the Oilers from breaking that Canadian win streak record".

But maybe that's not totally fair. At least you predict we will make it to the Stanley Cup Final.

Disagree….he’s the sand paper we need to put us over the top. Our Patty Maroon that we needed back in the day…..plan the parade! Serious. Look at tall of the previous cup winners……they all had that one pain in the ass player that pissed off the other team…..well that’s Perry.

In hindsight it was an awful take, I was worked up about the reffing in Seattle game more than anything.

The Stanley Cup Final loss is not a prediction,

it's a joke:

Corey Perry lost 3 consecutive Stanley Cup Finals with 3 separate teams:

Lost in Dallas to Tampa

Lost in Montreal to Tampa

Lost in Tampa to Colorado

His unlucky streak in the Cup Final has become a thing of legend. So no not predicting a cup final loss, but poking fun at Corey Perry's recent record in them.

From the Edmonton Journal...
"The Oilers are riding high on a 13-game winning streak. Team spirit is high, with every player on the roster delivering some degree of value to the effort. For his part, Perry had his contract terminated by Chicago Blackhawks, reportedly for some unruly behaviour at a team off-ice function. To his credit, he took full ownership of the problem, and took a number of weeks away from the game for rehabiltation. For those same weeks, speculation has swirled regarding his next destination, with Edmonton being a frequently-mentioned destination.
It certainly makes some sense at one level. The squad as currently comprised has zero active players (though one assistant coach) who has the experience of winning the Stanley Cup. That’s a box Perry checked way back in his sophomore campaign as a member of the 2006-07 Anaheim Ducks. Many years later, he won a trio of conference championships in consecutive seasons with 3 different clubs: Dallas, Montreal, Tampa Bay. The 38-year-old right winger has played in 196 Stanley Cup playoff games, the most among active players, while his 53 goals, 71 assists, and 124 postseason points all rank inside the top 10.
Perry’s winning experience goes far beyond that one Stanley Cup title. He is a member of the Triple Gold Club, and is one of just two players to ever win all of the Memorial Cup, World Junior, Stanley Cup, Olympic gold, World Championship gold, and World Cup of Hockey gold. (The other is Scott Niedermayer.)

Sorry but this is just another poor take (joke) like the referee fixing one was.
Perry being on two teams losing against a stellar Tampa Bay team is hardly because he is a jinx. Nobody thought Montreal would even make it to the Stanley Cup when he was with them. They were expected to lose in the first round. Montreal was heavily outclassed by TB.

And he is still a Stanley Cup winner with Anaheim in 2007.

Interesting storyline of Perry being a leading member of the Ducks team that took out the Oilers in 2017, ending McDavid and Draisaitl's first playoff run. Now nearing 8 years later, he joins that same Oilers team who've now been on the verge of a cup for a couple seasons now.
