Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Special event open to public - an exclusive chartered lrt ride from Commonwealth Stadium station to the new Blatchford Gate station on Oct. 20. Limited spots and must pre-register.

Event will feature food, refreshments sponsored in part by Councillors Salvador, Janz and Stevenson.

Good interest in this event. They've had to add a second lrt car to accommodate registrations and increase the budget to buy more food!

It's good to see some traction. I would like to see some better renders on how the alignment will effect the dog park. I would also like to see the bridge over walker yard have pedestrian access as well, as that area of the Northside has limited access points to go south.

Is there any word on the Gorman expansion? Wondering if detailed engineering has even begun yet.

This is where I expect the prioritization of the northeast extension to be after the two current projects are completed:

Castledowns 2035
Allard/Desrochers 2040
Gorman 2045 (may as well consider extending it to Horse Hill/Marquis by then)
Naki 2045+
Airport 2045+
SE Valley Line Extension 2045+

The northeast is gaining some traction but Gorman's build out is going to make Blatchford look fast tracked. The only reason City of Edmonton built Blatchford Gate early is because it's a gateway to the next major extension project. I don't think they're interested in speculating yet to be built neighbourhoods anymore.

Noticed today some earth is starting to be moved south of the Henday. May be prepping to get the grade work done for the new bridge.

Is that for the Metro Line or the Capital Line? If the latter then you posted in the wrong thread.

Honestly, just combine the threads at this point. The two high-floor lines don’t have any concurrent major projects happening for the foreseeable future, and the individual threads aren’t that active anyway. Plus, a lot of the convo involves both lines (grade separation, fleet, etc.).
