Any recent information on vacancy there?
That's awful. Unfortunate that alcoves have become drug use amenity spaces. I see it even at Bonnie Doon mall. The homeless guy that set himself on fire - multiple times - yup - more than once - kept cooking his batch even after he went out the first time - in one the alcoves a few years ago....
Yes, alcoves have become problem areas in many places in the city, even in better areas like the office building I am in, they had to eventually close one off. That's awful. Unfortunate that alcoves have become drug use amenity spaces. I see it even at Bonnie Doon mall.
The Hat at 5 Corners is a proverbial island in a sea of pavement and it doesn't help that development hasn't followed around it.
Retail is barely surviving on 103st and 108st in the core of the office and residential base of DT. Not a chance this gets filled without 5+ more buildings in the area imo.In one way it is a bit surprising that nothing has come to occupy the retail spaces in the podium. On the other hand the area does feel a bit awkward to have a retail space especially at this point with only really this building at this intersection. If only at least one more building can get built at this intersection I think the feel of the area will be different and not so "all by itself"
Before BCM defaulted (or whatever happened on this project), their original proposal was actually for two towers, one on this site, and the other was supposed to be on the SW corner. If only at least one more building can get built at this intersection I think the feel of the area will be different and not so "all by itself"
