Covenant Wellness Community in southeast Edmonton is an innovative approach to healthcare development

The first-of-its-kind Covenant Wellness Community will bring together the health and wellness services Albertans need to live and age well in one location.

This continues to be a very interesting project and I wonder if we'll see this delivery model replicated elsewhere.

Phase 1 of the vision — the Community Health Centre (CHC) — is currently under construction. When it opens in 2025, it will be a one-stop health and wellness destination, incorporating clinics and services moved from the Grey Nuns hospital, including medical and surgical clinics, outpatient mental health, a diabetes education centre and cardiac rehabilitation. It will also house doctors’ offices, complementary medical services (diagnostic and laboratory), and health and wellness services.

So at grey nuns today. All of the outpatient services are moving to the new centre. This will allow GN to gut the floor so ED can expand. Hopefully some time in the new year.

I’m not sure if this is what they’re referring to, but it was supposed to go just east of this building.

It looks like it will be where the former parking lot was. I was wondering why they had not developed that part of the lot.

I see they’re using the term “tower” liberally.
