Now these guys are getting with the program and are showing that they completely understand the concept of TOD (and DOT

Have they even put anything through EDC yet? I know they have said in a few press releases that they intended to start this year, but I don't think there has been anything formally put through the development process since the rezoning.

The Safeway is getting exterior and interior upgrades but the 'big' news is that a temporary transit plaza linking the mall to the LRT stop is starting construction this fall and ending next spring. The plaza is being referred to as the first step in the mall redevelopment process and would be replaced by the 'formal' transit plaza once development reaches the southern portion of the mall site.

Correct, I haven't heard of anything yet.
First picture isn't by the new station, second picture is by the new station - so far, just the lights from the renders.

The improvements so far are small but nice. I will be facinated to see how it progresses over the next few months.
The Safeway is currently being renovated, which makes me think that end of the mall is a long ways off. Hopefully they move on the northern part of the site.

ideally, i prefer they construct along the parameterfirst starting with the two busy corridors..
