At least some good news, if even temporary. While, I like the proposed project, particularly the mix of residential and retail, it would be nice if the street front facade was more preserved.

^It all depends on the condition of the masonry. Sometimes there's not much to salvage.

The question begs do you 'replicate' the original facade or do you create a new identity for the site. Red brick maybe isn't the right material. At our Beljan Block development used a white facade which replaced a 'red brick' building that used to be on site. The red brick facade was altered over the years that there wasn't much to salvage.

Since we have very few stocks left, I would like a replication. IMO, had we preserved some of the more grander scale antiques, I would have been alright with this revision Unfortunately, we are now left to salivate a building like this although antiquated...

The only issue with keeping the original facade is that its designed for one big store. I like the fact that there will be multiple facades giving that added variety.

Agreed but don't make it complicated... Use the same color schemes but switch the coordinating around...
