Veneers are used more than one might think... be it flooring, framing, furniture or kitchen.

Nothing wrong with brick veneer. It's every other element of the building that I have a problem with.

Yikes. Of all the buildings I have seen, this... is certainly one of them. What really kills me is that CRUs could have really helped to "open" the bottom level given its massing. It's wasted potential imo.

The silver lining in my opinion is that it’s not on a Main Street and will be hidden by other developments in due time. It also adds a ton of density blocks from an LRT station.

Except that 121 West won't have the incredible mixed-use density of the Walled City, nor have excellent Cantonese food stalls!

I always knew the Eiffel Tower was gigantic, but the first time I saw it up close in person I was still blown away by how large it actually was.

What I don't get is why these multi family buildings always seem to choose the worst looking stucco. Like yeah it's not the nicest material out there, but there's ways to do it where it doesn't look so flimsy and cheap. Even just having accents around windows and on corners and massing breaks can do so much to make it look less terrible.
