The city councillor representing Edmonton's core is happy with the way funding for the Downtown Vibrancy Strategy has been spent so far, but would like to see future funds go towards more permanent initiatives.

You know what's missing from downtown? A decent walk in medical clinic. There are a few in oliver. But apparently none in the downtown core itself. Are there any in the downtown core that I'm not aware of? Seems like medical clinics have been popping up everywhere except the downtown core.

There are family practices Downtown, like the Baker Clinic, and at least there's a lab Downtown, but not a walk-in clinic that I can think of.

I always found it annoying that you had to go 15 blocks west to get to one.

Odd that there isn't one in the Downtown proper.

2. Awareness Campaign - "As goes your downtown, so goes your city"

3. Downtown Funding Prioritization - advocate for downtown initiatives and support City Administration's 2012 - 2014 capital budget submission due to Council this fall

7-11 in Ultima has closed. I know they were facing a lot of security/theft challenges, but interesting the timing coincides with Loblaws opening.

Theft and disorder were rampant.

I tried to go a few weeks ago (daytime) and had to be buzzed in... seriously.

I'm hoping for a couple of things from Loblaws:
- they extend their closing hours beyond 8 pm
- they are able to with deal with theft and disorder
