Bike Edmonton is also doing live tweet updates
It passed unanimously, this is huge!! I am so glad that this council is proving to have some bite that goes along with its bark. For context, here is the definition for 'redeveloping areas' in the report: "Redeveloping areas, as outlined in The City Plan, generally describes the area bounded by Anthony Henday Drive"Holy cow, this deserves it's own post. Ashley Salvador put forward a motion for a bike plan implementation guide that completes the whole network by 2026!!!

That's exactly what the city does nowadays. No one ever complains about shared use pathways.Folks would probably complain less if we say we are going to build "active transport vehicle pathways" (ATVP?) throughout the city rather than say "bike lanes".
Except when they're misleadingly called bike lanesThat's exactly what the city does nowadays. No one ever complains about shared use pathways.
This is massive. So encouraged. I really hope this gets built in the next 6 years! It would be a game changer.
You’re correct. But the 2026 deadline will be very ambitious. I’m guessing it takes a bit longer? If I'm understanding correctly, the 408km network of new cycle/shared use path infastructure would be built within 4 years. That's all alreas within the Henday.
Don't be silly. The city never misses a deadline. You’re correct. But the 2026 deadline will be very ambitious. I’m guessing it takes a bit longer?
