From my understanding, the office tower isn't really empty too. I'm guessing that means relocations for the tenants to other offices in the financial core?

My understanding is that the only reason it is up there is due to the cost of removal and that CN probably likes the freed exposure, but I could see it being removed due to corporate direction should exterior renovations occur.
 
The lower street-facing sign could go but the upper neon sign should stay -- it is historical and gives remembrances continuation along with the actual building.
The street facing sign has a very strong presence and it would be a shame if had to be removed. Size, shape, and color wise it's basically perfect in the context of the building.
