Capital Line LRT

CAF are doing the purple line cars for Maryland which are marginally longer than TransEd's Alstom cars.
It's worth noting that ETS is strongly considering longer cars to decrease the required number of cars per full length train.

I'm in favour of this as the SD-160s feel cramped compared to the very long VLSE cars.

The Maryland CAF trains look intriguing. 43m long = three of them would be 129m long and all the doors would fit within our platforms. Two trains for normal service, one train for late night/weekend service, and three trains for event/maintenance service.

What an earth are they talking about?
The LRVs are needed to replace the 37 ageing U2 vehicles that have been operating on the Edmonton light rail network since the first section opened in 1978. The other 16 LRVs are required for the $C 2.7bn ($US 1.9bn) 14km Valley Line West LRT extension scheduled to open in 2028 and the 4.5km Capital Line south extension, construction of which is expected to start later this year.

Flying anywhere along that line you need permission as well as letting the Airport know.

However the LRT Bride right of way, there is foundation work presently ongoing just south of the Henday at the end of 127st . near the old Body farm.
