Falling Around Edmonton, or, Almost down the rabbit hole...
Walking towards the bridge ahead (Connor`s Rd) in this crappy picture below, I stopped on the walkway just a foot or two away from the start of the handrail. Snapped a few more photos and took a step back to hopefully capture that expertly framed Augustana shot, lol.

Then down I went.

Note, nice leg shot is for demonstration purposes only ( ;
I fell backwards as my leg slipped down this gaping abyss. Luckily, I was wearing my knapsack with a tripod strapped to the side which I am sure prevented me from a freefall of about 5 metres down that opening! I`m not joking.
My flash helped light the erosion hazard a bit, but hard to get a good shot.

Ghastly.

It was almost impossible to see this hazard from the sidewalk, the grass partly concealed it as did the slope.

I called 311 and a crew eventually fenced the area off.
Here`s the shot I wanted, I guess.

I just thought that I would share this experience with you all.

@Kaizen I'd like to suggest some names for your photog masterpieces (prior to gallery hangings, and I, too, am glad that you didn't end up underground cavified) -- from top to bottom 1. a graphical study in unplanned urban-scapes, 2. Foot attached to Hairy Leg, 3. Gateway to Hell, 4. Hell before the flame is ignited, 5. Dandelion commemoration of the last place prominent Edmontonian was seen, 5. Whew!, and 6. Muttard (sp. on poipose). From an evangelical sense (and i most definitely ain't one), I wonder if the God is offering you a warning ?
