Good!
One thing that has been consistent throughout, is our current Premier's tenuous connection to reality. How bout' them contrails!Good!
Like Elon Musk and Bill Ackman? Many UCP and Trump supporters don't do math.
So she made some silly comments about chontrails. At least she doesn't agree with school counselors having private conversations with children about their gender that are kept secret from the children's parents and she doesn't agree with giving children puberty blockers. I mean, that is truly crazy and something the NDP and Rachel Notley support. The NDP support trans policies that the majority of parents are firmly against, as well as economy crushing "climate change" policies that makes everything more expensive (while India and China continue to pump coal emissions at record levels) - and makes Alberta and Canada less productive. Alberta is a world leader in efficient and ethical fossil fuels extraction and we should be proud of our industries. Also, the NDP's embrace of public unions and creating too much publicly funded bureaucracy that live off of the backs of tax payers is a recipe for an unproductive society with lowering GDP per capita (just see how this worked for the Federal Libs) - as long as the NDP continue to promote these types of policies they will never get elected in Alberta. I notice many people on here blaming the "uneducated" rural "redneck" types for the UCP's success but there are many people in Calgary and Edmonton that support the UCP and think Premier Smith is doing a great job. I'm highly educated, born and raised in the city and I have always supported the Conservatives and now UCP - and I know many many people like me who feel the same way. Also, most rural folks are hard working intelligent caring people - something that I think some people on this forum need to be reminded of. Merry Christmas everyone!!One thing that has been consistent throughout, is our current Premier's tenuous connection to reality. How bout' them contrails!
What percentage of people truly suffer from a genuine gender issue, resulting in them having a legitimate need to go through a transition? Is it 1/100,000 or something? If more than that are feeling this way, is it responsible to find out which individuals truly are suffering from it, and maybe which ones are just having other mental health issues and then getting them other types of help? At what point would you look to other types of help, if 1/10,000 kids were feeling this way? What about if 1/100 or 1/10 started indicating they are trans? It’s a legitimate problem that no doubt affects some small portion of the public, and those people should be helped. But we should also not be afraid to tell kids that it’s normal to feel uncomfortable in one’s skin throughout puberty, and it’s normal to mature and have different views of the world, etc. I’m not an expert but most people I talk to feel somewhat similar, all “educated”.If your child said they were trans, would you use their desired name and pronouns without gaslighting them? If you hesitate to say "yes", even for a moment, now you understand why laws are needed to protect trans kids.
Also, if a child said they were trans, I’d ask them where they even learned what that is? I’d get them as far away from social media like tik tok as possible, and much more involved with extra curricular activities. If I didn’t learn what trans was until adulthood, why would a child be even coming into contact with any notion of this word or its meaning? I’d do everything I could to let my kid be a kid, and not worry about topics that are far beyond their maturity to comprehend. If your child said they were trans, would you use their desired name and pronouns without gaslighting them? If you hesitate to say "yes", even for a moment, now you understand why laws are needed to protect trans kids.
