132 Ave Renewal

"we need parking" yeah it's called a detached garage lol

The city would probably do well to try and encourage denser infill in this area to take advantage of this renewal. Has there been any popping up so far?

A Quick Look Maps look at a random section of 132 Ave shows that EVERY HOME has a garage in the alley and the service road maybe 1/5 full. Plus, there is parking in the plan. You can't make this stuff up. I don't think the neighbourhood's reputation lends itself to massive redevelopment any time soon, but that first picture shows a road I wouldn't mind living on.

If they're hoarding parking outside the house, they're hoarding inside.

Fantastic change. If I lived in the area I would be thrilled to have a collector road like this. The road probably also has more than double the capacity it had previously.

Drove the entire 127st - 97st this evening, the renewal has now been completed up to 121 street and snow clearing on the paths was good but definitely not as well as paths downtown. I can’t wait to ride this route next year. I wouldn’t wait that long but the connections to get to hear via bike are some serious missing links and not worth the challenge lol
