10921 - JASPER AVENUE NW -

Yes there is blame to go around related to the Green Line, but this project was proposed and funded over a decade ago. Much of the delay and dithering after that was by the province, not the Feds or the City.

So surprise, surprise, costs went up a lot during that time. If it had proceeded on a more timely basis, this would not have been such a problem.

Its hard to tell on this one. Commuter rail would likely also appeal to the key suburban and rural voters near Edmonton that the UCP needs to get or keep.

I'm not sure if anything will actually happen anywhere on this after the Green Line debacle in Calgary, but if it does then things may come together quickly.

TBH I don't really see commuter rail happening for Edmonton either, there simply isn't the need for it.

It would be nice to have a train out to Jasper though, and there could be some potential to make Wabamum into more of a summer resort community now that the power plants are gone, get a Sylvan lake thing going for Edmonton.

The building proposed seems fairly decent and will nicely fill in a gap on Jasper Ave. If the rail line ends a bit before, say at a sensible place like a bit south closer to the LRT station, its not the end of the world, really.

I really like the use of the WSP building parkade access to prevent an additional entrance. That back alley could use some love to better connect the MUP to the sidewalk and bike lane.

another wunderkind! (I "wunder" what "kind" of child professes this to be architecture). One thing that it does negate is the future opportunity to fill in the Jasper "Dip" -- we get 2 Dips for the price of one.
