Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

I won’t lie, my interactions with those engaged in leading these projects do not give me a ton of confidence. Feels like we got the traffic cops of the force reassigned to this project.

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

100% my concern for the West End and why I’m disappointed by the slow role out of this. With Knack gone too, the west end routes will likely not see as supportive of a bike user representing the routes.

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

Would a large increase in trips, but not revenue point to higher usage by existing riders, but not as many new riders then? Or growth primarily being subsidized passes? Or just a ton of fare evading/tech issues?

    Winspear Centre Completion Project | 29.87m | 4s | Winspear Centre | Andrew Bromberg

Yeah, I was going to say, this isn’t “we went over budget a bit cause inflation”. This feels like complete mismanagement of a massive capital project without clear fundraising capabilities. If the grants don’t exist, nor the contacts to raise tens of millions, why is the project scope so large?

Could the rm h28 zone be updated to include some features of the DC zones in terms of architectural standards and such? Seems like a real issue that’ll continue to frustrate residents if we keep getting low quality projects.

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

does anyone understand our snow clearing for active transportation? Why are routes like the 127th street bike lane not done, yet the majority of suburban MUPs are. Any commuter reliant on 127th st today can't use it, but we have arterials outside the henday cleared? Is this a deployment issue...

    Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Griesbach is seen as one of the most attractive neighborhoods in all of Edmonton though. It’s significantly built out. Has a ton of retail…both in walkable midrise podiums, and in big box centres… and has a great reputation for safety and quality of homes. Arguably the midrises continuing to...

    Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I don’t know. I actually do think it’s a fair comparison. Infill high rises in Wihkwentowin arent “easy” to build, whereas a midrise in Blatchford, on the first roads ever built in the community, that have now existed for over 5 years, would be easy to build (in the sense of construction...

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

102ave, 110st, 83ave etc should hopefully all avoid risks as secondary streets. 95ave on the west end in 2026 should be getting a district connector that will require the removal of a service road (I.e lanes) to make it fit. That would be an example of a route at risk potentially is the UCP...

    Miscellaneous

This is east side of 116st and south of 104ave. Was there a project here? I faintly remember… Or is this just a lay down for the Leston project or LRT?

Garland is such a Smurf. S tier clownery on that play. Not even hockey at that point.
